Postcard Comics - an online class with David Lasky
It can be extremely fun and satisfying to draw a little comic on a postcard and mail it to a friend or relative. In this online class, we’ll take on the challenge of drawing comics on five postcards (postcards provided!). Along the way, students will learn aspects of penciling, inking, coloring, writing haiku, and more.
This class is designed for students who already have some basic comics-making skills.
Students will have the option of sharing their work with the class on a private web page.
5 one-hour sessions
Saturdays at 1pm (Eastern US), 4pm (West coast US) (your time zone may vary)
Dates: AUG 22, 29, SEPT 12, 19, 26. (There will not be a session on SEPT 5.)
PRICING: I try to price my classes so they will be accessible to most people. The price of this class includes five postcards which will be mailed to each student.
Tuition: $80
This class will meet online via Zoom.
Supplies: Sketchbook, Pencil, Eraser, Ruler.
Five postcards will be mailed to each student.
It is recommended that students also have the following:
Micron or Pitt Artist pens.
Dip pen: Holder and nibs.
Black ink. (I like black acrylic ink.)
Coloring supplies: Colored pencils. Watercolor Paints. A small watercolor brush for painting small details.
